UP TO $1,000 REWARD OFFERED
San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Central Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects responsible for an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the Downtown area.
On January 8, 2024, at approximately 11:56 p.m., a blue colored, early 2000’s Chevrolet Corvette was driving erratically eastbound on 1100 J Street, in downtown San Diego. The Corvette lost control and struck a parked Kia Forte. The Corvette’s passenger side headlight cover came off the vehicle, as well as a plastic piece of the front fender. The owner of the Kia observed the incident via surveillance cameras and walked out to the scene to inspect the damages. The Corvette was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger. The male driver got out of the vehicle and tried to push the Corvette off the parked car, at which point the female passenger got into the driver’s seat of the Corvette.
The owner of the Kia attempted to exchange insurance information. The male driver entered the passenger’s side of the Corvette and told the female suspect to “run over” the owner of the Kia and flee the scene. The female suspect intentionally struck the victim by driving the Corvette into him. The victim was carried on the hood for several blocks before falling off the vehicle. The suspects were last seen driving eastbound on J Street at a high rate of speed. The victim sustained serious injuries including a fractured ankle and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Suspects’ Descriptions:
The male suspect was described as possibly being Hispanic, approximately 25 to 35- years-old, medium to heavy build, with dark slicked back hair.
The female suspect was described as possibly being Hispanic, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, thin build, with long dark colored curly hair, and brown eyes.
Vehicle Description:
The suspects’ vehicle is believed to be a blue colored, early 2000’s model Chevrolet Corvette C5. The vehicle is missing the passenger’s side headlight cover, a blue piece of the passenger’s side front fender, and may have white paint transfer on the passenger’s side front panel.
