San Diego County Crime Stoppers and Students Speaking out is an anonymous crime tip reporting system that allows the public to report details about a crime or potential crime via phone, web app, or texting link. When the tip is sent, it is received and vetted by two of our law enforcement coordinators who pass the tip to the appropriate law enforcement department.
If it results in a felony arrest, it becomes a viable tip that will be voted on by our Board of Directors for the award amount and the tipster is given a code to claim the award from the bank. In the case of a Students Speaking Out tip that involves campus related incidents, it does not need to be a felony to be paid out. All tips remain anonymous for the protection of the person reporting the crime.
