San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving a bicyclist with serious injuries in the Ocean Beach area of San Diego.
On Friday, March 3, 2023, at about 6:26 p.m., a 17-year-old male bicyclist was yielding for a left turn from southbound Catalina Boulevard to eastbound Narragansett Avenue. A vehicle was traveling southbound and struck the bicyclist. The vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene. Several parts came off the vehicle during the collision from the right-side mirror, right side front wheel well trim and right front facia. The bicyclist has serious injuries sustained from the collision and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators are asking the public to contact them if they can help identify the vehicle and driver.
Vehicle Description:
It was determined by investigators, the parts left at the scene come from a black 2016-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle will be missing the parts listed above.
