UP TO $1000 REWARD
San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle and driver that fled the scene of a traffic collision leaving a male motorcycle rider with severe injuries and his female passenger with fatal injuries in the Tierrasanta area of San Diego along the border with the City of Santee.
On Saturday, October 21, 2023, at about 7:24 p.m., a 65-year-old male and a 68-year-old female were hit by an unknown vehicle while the male was operating a three-wheeled motorcycle. They were southbound on West Hills Parkway at the intersection with Carlton Oaks Drive. The force of the collision caused the motorcycle to veer off the roadway and down into a ravine. The rider and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle causing serious injuries to the male and fatal injuries to the female. The driver of the other vehicle did not identify themselves and fled the scene.
Video evidence shows the suspect vehicle stopped briefly south of the collision scene. Two other vehicles were flagged down by a good Samaritan/witness to assist at the scene. Those two vehicles and the possible suspect vehicle left as first responders arrived. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in contacting the citizen’s who stopped to help at the scene so a statement can be taken about the other vehicles and people around the vehicles that stopped. Detective’s also ask for any information regarding the identification of the suspect(s) or suspect vehicle.
Vehicle Description: The vehicle description is unknown, but possibly a dark SUV or sedan. It could have light to moderate damage to its right side but is also unknown.
Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect and/or the suspect’s vehicle is asked to call the SDPD’s Traffic Division Detective at (858) 573-5002 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
