Ocean Beach Assault Suspect Sought

Up to a $1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Western Division are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate the suspect responsible for an assault that occurred near the Ocean Beach Pier on 5000 Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach.

On August 6, 2018, at about 1:30 a.m., two men were seen arguing on the sidewalk near the Ocean Beach Pier when one of them grabbed an aluminum beach chair and threw it at the other man. When police officers arrived they found the victim on the ground, bleeding from a head injury. He was unconscious but breathing. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he received treatment for a skull fracture.

A witness described the suspect as a White adult male, about 5’2”-5”4” tall with a stocky build. He was accompanied by a White male with dreadlocks who was about 5’9” tall wearing a black coat and a White female of average height with yellow or brown hair.
