Who Murdered Tony Hawkins?

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, along with investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit, are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 36-year-old Tony Hawkins that occurred eleven years ago. 

On Monday, November 5th, 2007, at approximately 5:51 p.m., Tony Hawkins was shot multiple times at the Exxon Gas Station (now Valero), located at 1025 Euclid Avenue, in the Valencia Park area. Hawkins died as a result of his injuries.

Sheriff’s Homicide Detail to Hold Press Conference Reference the Disappearance of Maria Elena Guzman-Cordova; She’s Been Missing Since October 13, 2017

San Diego County Crime Stoppers along with investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff Department’s Homicide Detail are still asking for the public’s help in finding Maria Elena Guzman-Cordova. 

Maria Elena Guzman-Cordova is missing under suspicious circumstances. On October 13, 2017, at about 9:00 p.m., Maria Elena Guzman-Cordova left her residence, located at 1610 North Santa Fe Avenue #38 in the City of Vista. She was last seen on foot wearing a pink or black shirt and black yoga pants. Maria Elena did not take any personal items with her or told anyone where she was going.  Maria Elena Guzman-Cordova may suffer from depression. 

The Sheriff’s Homicide detail will hold a press conference today, September 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Headquarters building, located at 9621 Ridgehaven Court, San Diego. 

Homicide Lt. Rich Williams will be speaking at the press conference along with Sgt. Alejandro Navarro who will give Spanish interviews. Maria Elena’s family will also be in attendance.

One Year Anniversary of the Unsolved Murder of Jose “Hugo” Lopez

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects responsible for the murder of 34-year-old Jose “Hugo” Lopez. 

On June 24, 2017, at 11:57 p.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to a call of a shooting near the intersection of South 31st Street and Martin Avenue, in the Logan Heights Neighborhood of San Diego. Officers found Jose “Hugo” Lopez lying on the ground in the intersection and was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life saving measures and Lopez was transported to UCSD Hospital. Despite the life saving measures, Lopez was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Investigators determined that Lopez had been walking on South 31st Street near the intersection of Martin Avenue, when an unknown vehicle stopped at the intersection. An unknown passenger got out of the vehicle and started shooting at Lopez. Lopez was struck multiple times and collapsed in the street. The suspect got back into the vehicle, which was last seen driving away westbound in the 3000 block of Martin Avenue. 

Suspect’s Vehicle: Investigators believe the suspects were in a dark colored 2 door sedan with tinted windows.

19 Year Anniversary of Teresa Gomez Madrigal Homicide

$1,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, working with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Detail, continue to seek information about the unsolved murder of Teresa Gomez Madrigal.

On February 24, 1999, the body of a woman, who was later identified as 33-year-old Teresa Gomez Madrigal from Riverside, was found near the entrance to Lake Poway in the city of Poway.  The cause of death was due to gunshot wounds. On March 4, 1999, Teresa's 1993 Toyota Camry was found abandoned in a parking lot seven miles from her Riverside home. The back seat was covered in blood and there was a bullet hole in the roof.

39 Year Anniversary of the Unsolved Murder of Barbara Nantais

Up to $1,000 Reward Offered  

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for the murder of Barbara Nantais.

On the morning of August 13, 1978, San Diego police officers responded to Torrey Pines State Beach where passers-by found the body of 15-year-old Barbara Nantais lying on the sand. Nantais had been strangled and beaten to death.  Nantais’ boyfriend (James Alt) had gone to the beach with her the night before and was discovered nearby suffering from a severe head wound. Alt’s injuries left him semi-conscious and with no memory of the attack.  Investigators believe an unknown suspect attacked Nantais and Alt while they were lying together on the beach.

11 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNSOLVED MURDER OF THOMAS JOHNSON

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit continue to look for leads on the eleven year anniversary of the unsolved murder of Thomas Johnson. 

On December 23, 2005, at 10:43 p.m., San Diego police officers responded to a report of a male who had been shot in front of a residence located in the 5000 block of Manomet Street.  Officers arrived at the location and found a male later identified as 31-year-old Thomas Johnson lying in the front hallway of the residence and was suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers and medics attempted life saving measures, but Johnson succumbed to his injuries.   

The preliminary investigation revealed that Johnson had left his residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. and returned home ten minutes later.  A witness then heard a commotion near the front of the residence followed by several gunshots.

7 Year Anniversary of the Murder of Daniel Alexander

$3,000 REWARD

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Escondido Police Department's Crimes of Violence Unit are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect wanted for murder. 

Daniel Alexander was murdered on July 4th, 2009. According to witnesses, Daniel Alexander was at his girlfriend's house in the 500 block of South Vine Street when he was confronted by several hispanic males who where at a party next door. Daniel was shot and killed during the confrontation and Federico Ramos is wanted in connection to the murder. 

Federico Ramos is described as a 36-ycar-old Hispanic male. 5'4" tall and weighing approximately 15O pounds.
