San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Cold Case Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for the murder of Nicole Weis, which occurred nearly 22 years ago.

On January 24, 2000, the San Diego Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the parking lot of the College Avenue Baptist Church at 4747 College Avenue, in San Diego. Firefighters found a female, wrapped in cardboard secured with a rope, burning in the lot. The victim died from her injuries.

Up until last year, investigators were unable to identify the victim. In 2020, investigators working with Investigative Genetic Genealogy were able to identify the victim as 21-year-old Nicole Weis. Investigators are asking if anyone knew Nicole to please contact them.
