Unknown Suspect Wanted for Arson

San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) are asking for the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the person responsible for starting multiple fires, which occurred in the Ocean Beach and Point Loma areas of San Diego. 

On September 28, 2019, between the early morning hours of 12:30 a.m. and 5:03 a.m., six separate fires occurred in the Ocean Beach and Point Loma areas. Investigators believe the same suspect is responsible for all six cases and they are being investigated as arson. The suspect ignited various items in and nearby the backyards of several homes. A white compact SUV similar to a Toyota RAV4 was seen in the 4100 block of Catalina Place, just before a fire was discovered at that location.

12:30 a.m. 4500 Muir Avenue 

1:12 a.m. 2100 Froude Street 

2:22 a.m. 4300 Piedmont Drive 

2:50 p.m. 4117 Catalina Place 

4:04 a.m. 4300 Monaco Street 

5:03 a.m. 3900 La Cresta Drive

Anyone with information on the identity and or location of the person responsible for starting these fires is asked to call the San Diego Metro Arson Strike Team at (619) 236-6815 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
