On June 30, 2012, at approximately 10:54 p.m., Officers responded to a shooting in the 2600 block of 44th Street. They found two victims shot in the parking lot of 2628 44th Street and a third victim in the west alley of 44th Street. All three victims were transported to a trauma center. Rickquese McCoy, 18, and Stephen McClendon, 34, died from their injuries. The third victim survived his injuries.

 The investigation has revealed the victims were standing outside an apartment on 44th Street when multiple Black male suspects (dressed in dark clothing) approached on foot from the south. The suspects fired multiple rounds at the victims before running back to a light colored 4-door sedan (possibly a Ford Taurus or similar vehicle). The vehicle was last seen westbound on Maple Street.

A description of one of the suspects has been released.  The suspect is described as a Black male, mid-to-late 30’s, 5’8”-5’11” tall, “husky” build with a dark complexion.  He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark clothing and armed with a handgun.
