COPS AND ROBBERS DIVISION

When you register – you can choose to be a COP or a ROBBER! This category is not mandatory – but it sure is FUN!

Groups will be separated at the start of the race. The ROBBERS will start first with the sound of an alarm. Three minutes later a radio call announcing a massive jail break will be broadcasted to start the COPS on their chase.

After that, the JAYWALKERS will be set free to roam around at their leisure. We are encouraging people who want to walk the race, or those with strollers or pets to identify themselves as JAYWALKERS.

The first 50 TEAMS OF COPS AND ROBBERS THAT FINISH TOGETHER will get a loot bag filled with goodies.

Here’s how it works:
• The ROBBERS who participate will be wearing a bright jail bracelet.
• The COPS who participate will be given plastic handcuffs the day of the race.
• To keep it safe we ask that the COPS and ROBBERS not runaway from each other.
• The ROBBERS should want to get caught to have a possibility to win a loot bag.• You do not have to identify a partner in crime before the race.
• If you’re a COP all you need to do is
handcuff a ROBBER wearing a bracelet that identifies themselves as a
willing participant and you both will be eligible to get a loot bag at
the end of the race.
• This category is not mandatory – but it sure is FUN!

VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are integral and crucial elements in making
our events viable. Volunteer tasks include, among others:
providing aid, water and food, keeping runners on course,
cheering runners on and keeping spirits up. They are
also there to have fun and enjoy the experience of the
race from a different perspective. And most importantly,
they make the race safer for everyone involved!

You’ve probably seen and thanked many volunteers
at past events, but what better way to say thanks and
give back than to be a volunteer yourself? After your
experience, you will appreciate the volunteers at future
events that much more!

In exchange you’ll get a goody bag and refreshments
but, more importantly, you will be rewarded with the
pride in knowing you helped to make the event happen,
and that many runners finished because of the help you
offered.

If you’d like to volunteer or need more information,
please contact us at 619-275-8240 (Office)
